Rudi bites his way to ultimate hot dog glory

Twelve contestants, one champion at Saveway SUPERSPAR’s hot dog-eating competition.

Cheers, laughter, and plenty of ketchup filled Saveway SUPERSPAR on August 1, as 12 fearless foodies went head-to-head in the store’s hot dog eating competition.

The rules were simple and mouth-watering: 24 hot dogs on the plate, 10 minutes on the clock.

Whoever cleared the most, wins.

A big crowd of supporters packed the store, chanting and clapping as contestants raced against time and each other.

Napkins flew, water bottles emptied, and the atmosphere was pure fun. The competition was tight from the start.

After the 10 minutes were up, two names stood out – Rudi Rautenbach and Andre Lourens. Both had 16 hot dogs left, forcing a second-round showdown.

In the final round, Rautenbach dug deep and pulled ahead to be crowned the winner, taking home bragging rights and awesome prizes.

“I’m so happy and a bit full. It was tough, but the crowd kept me going. Thank you to Saveways and everyone who came to support,” Rautenbach said.
