Lethiwe Sithole is making waves in the arts industry, releasing hits as an afro-soul musician and transforming lives through her writing skills.

The 39-year-old said she has been singing for as long as she can remember; however, she started taking music seriously in 2018, when people criticised her for ‘making noise’.

“I only learned later that I could learn to sing, so I started taking singing lessons because I really wanted to pursue music and not just be an engineer,” she said.

In 2019, she recorded and released her first single, followed by an EP titled “Bambelela” in 2020, which included a hit song that made waves even on big radio stations.

Her biggest milestone came after she released her debut album and earned a nomination for the Best African Adult Contemporary Album at the SAMA Awards in 2023.

Apart from being behind the mic, Sithole has used her writing skills to inspire women through her debut book released in May titled “Living on Purpose: How to achieve that for yourself as a Career Woman”.

“I wrote that book to give guidance to many professional women who were asking me how I am living a life that looks intentional. So, through my book, I advise them on how to move from people-pleasing to living with clarity,” she said.

Though she said she has encountered many challenges throughout her journey, God has always kept her grounded and sent her helpers who held her hand.

“I want to say thank you to God and all His angels who have worked to make me the womanthat I am today,” Sithole said.

As she prepares for her book launch and music show happening on September 5 at New Life Church Minor Hall, Sithole advised the youth to work diligently in everything they do.

“There is no shortcut to success. Success is available to anyone willing to pay the price for it, which is working diligently in faith and with integrity,” she said.
