Elegance and glamour at Hertzog matric dance
The matrics arrived for the show-off at the school stadium, then later moved to The Dome at The Ridge to proceed with the celebration.
Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog’s matric class of 2026 turned heads on August 14 as they arrived in style for their matric dance.
The fun began at the Hertzog stadium, where learners showed off their elegant dresses, smart suits, and impressive vehicles in front of proud parents, family members, and friends. The excitement then moved to The Dome at The Ridge, where the evening’s celebrations continued.
During the formal programme, Gerhardt van Rooyen, the school principal, addressed the matric class and wished them well for the future, while the head leaders also delivered their final address to their peers, reflecting on the memories, challenges, and successes of their school journey.
“The evening was one to remember, filled with laughter, dancing, and special moments among the learners,” said Nhlakanipho Mashiane from the school.
“For the Class of 2026, it was a night that will not soon be forgotten.”
The function concluded with the announcement of various awards, bringing an end to a memorable matric dance.
