The unmistakable sound of rally engines will once again reverberate through the forests of Dullstroom when the TRACN4 Rally returns to Mpumalanga on October 30 and 31.

As one of the flagship events on the South African National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar, the rally is expected to attract some of the country’s leading drivers, co-drivers and motorsport enthusiasts for a weekend of intense competition in one of South Africa’s most demanding rally environments.

Over the years, the Dullstroom rally has established itself as a cornerstone of South African motorsport.

Nestled in the heart of the eMakhazeni Local Municipality, the town’s high-altitude setting, winding forest roads and often unpredictable weather conditions create a unique challenge that tests both driver skill and machine reliability.

The rally’s continued success has also strengthened Dullstroom’s reputation as a motorsport destination, drawing visitors from across the country and helping position the wider eMakhazeni region as a hub for motorsport-related events throughout the year.

In their statement, TRAC mentioned that unlike traditional circuit racing, rallying demands far more than outright speed. Competitors must combine technical expertise, strategic decision-making and seamless teamwork while navigating rapidly changing road conditions. The TRACN4 Rally’s renowned forest stages, located on routes owned and maintained by Safcol and S&N Boerdery, are known for their narrow passages, loose surfaces and technical complexity.

Drivers and co-drivers will once again face a stern examination of precision, concentration and endurance as they tackle the demanding stages through the forests surrounding Dullstroom.

Beyond the excitement on the course, the TRACN4 Rally continues to make a meaningful impact within the local community. Since 2020, proceeds generated by the event have supported the Dullstroom Epilepsy Centre, which serves as Epilepsy South Africa’s Mpumalanga hub, as well as several other community-driven initiatives.

The event also provides an important economic boost to Dullstroom, Belfast and surrounding areas. Visitors attending the rally contribute to local businesses, including accommodation establishments, restaurants, retailers and other service providers, creating valuable opportunities for economic activity during the event period.

For spectators, the TRACN4 Rally offers a rare opportunity to witness top-level national motorsport against the backdrop of Mpumalanga’s scenic landscapes. Organisers say dedicated spectator areas and additional event information will be announced closer to race day to ensure fans can enjoy the action safely and conveniently.
