Planned power outage on October 23
Residents of areas falling under Smuts Substation must not be left in the dark and prepare for the planned power outage on Sunday, October 23.
According to the spokesperson of Emalahleni Local Municipality, Mr Lebo Mofokeng, a planned outage has been scheduled for October 23, from 08:00 to 17:00.
“The Electrical Department will be performing urgent maintenance to replace burnt protection wires and testing,” he said.
The following areas will be affected:
- Schoongezicht
- Witbank CBD
- Indian Dorp
- Portion of Thala
- Thushanang
He said the above areas were identified at the time of publishing but can change due to ring feeds on the network.
“The network must be treated as live during this period,” he said in closing.
