A woman was inside her house when a fire broke out causing the roof of the house to cave in.

The incident happened in Botha Street in Ackerville on March 1 at about 11:00.

According to Mr Solly Jabu Masinga the fire destroyed everything in his sister, Ms Sani Mbethe’s house, “Furniture, beds, chairs, tables, two washing machines, two fridges, clothes, plasma television, wall cupboards; even ceramic wall tiles were burned.”

He said he was told that municipality workers came to the area to fix electrical problems experienced in the back opposite the house on Monday.
