Hijackers strike twice in Kwa-Guqa within hours

Two carjackings reported in Vosman over the weekend.

Vosman Police are investigating two separate carjackings that occurred within hours of each other, leaving two vehicles stolen over the weekend.

The first incident happened on October 24 at about 22:15 in Empumelelweni Extension 16, where three armed men allegedly hijacked a company vehicle – a white Toyota GD6 Hilux.

According to police, the men approached the victims while they were outside the vehicle.

One of the men pointed a firearm at them, forcing the victims to flee. The suspects then drove off with the vehicle.

Just a few hours later, at about 02:45 on October 25, another carjacking occurred near the water tanks in Zone 14, Extension 2.

According to police, a grey Polo was stolen after two armed men approached the owner while he was inside the car.

The victim told police he had earlier been with a woman he met at a tavern, and suspected he might have been allegedly drugged after accepting an already opened drink she offered.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incidents to contact the station or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
