Emalahleni IDP Imbizo kicks off across wards from tomorrow

Don’t sit back and complain later, be there, be heard, and be part of shaping your community.

The power to shape service delivery and development in Emalahleni now lies firmly in the hands of its residents as the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Imbizo gets underway from tomorrow.

This crucial community engagement process is more than a routine municipal exercise; it is where decisions about water, electricity, roads, housing and infrastructure begin.

The IDP determines how resources are allocated and which projects are prioritised, making public participation not just important, but essential.

The Imbizo kicks off on April 22 at 17:00 at Lynnville Community Hall, where residents from Wards 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 17 are expected to attend and raise issues affecting their communities.

The following day, April 23 at 17:00, the programme moves to Emalahleni City Hall, bringing together Wards 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 33 and 34.

On April 24 at 17:00, residents from Wards 12 and 15 will gather at Klarinet Extension Community Hall to engage directly with municipal representatives.

The Imbizo continues on April 26, starting in the morning at 09:00 at Mabande Secondary School Sports Ground for Wards 28, 30 and 31 before moving later that day to Thubelihle Community Hall at 14:00 for Wards 25, 26, 27 and 32.

The final session will be held on April 28 at 17:00 at Extension 4 Park, opposite Siphosensimbi Clinic, where residents from Wards 1 to 9, as well as Wards 23 and 29, will have their opportunity to be heard.

From a statement on the municipality’s page: “Let your voice be heard as we engage on service delivery and community development in Emalahleni.”
