Orlando Pirates Emalahleni branch gives hope to schools with ‘Girl a Pad’ drive

The Orlando Pirates Emalahleni branch showed love to the local school girls through their ‘Girl a Pad’ drive.

The Orlando Pirates Emalahleni branch has brought support and smiles to schools in Emalahleni through its ‘Girl a Pad’ drive.

The campaign on April 17 visited Elukhanyisweni High School, Clewer Primary School, Siyanqoba Primary School, and Siyanqoba High School. Girls at these schools received sanitary pads and care packs to help them feel confident and stay in school.

Learners welcomed the visitors with singing and dancing, showing their joy and appreciation during the visits.
Branch general secretary Thembeka Mchunu said the group is committed to helping the community again and again.

“This is not the first time we are doing such campaigns. We have done them before, and we are open to working with other partners in Emalahleni to continue helping,” she said.

She added that the branch also wants to inspire learners to follow their dreams, including in sports.

“We want to see some of these learners become professional footballers. They can play for Orlando Pirates or even other teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns,” she said.
