Seniors enjoy ageing sports day at Lynville Stadium
Senior citizens in eMalahleni took part in an active ageing sports day at Lynville Stadium to promote health, fitness, and social wellbeing.
Lynville Stadium was full of energy and excitement as older people from eMalahleni came together for an Active Ageing Programme focused on health, fitness, and social interaction.
The seniors took part in simple sports and fun activities such as brisk walking, light athletics exercises, coordination drills, and team games on June 26.
These activities were designed to help them stay active, improve their movement, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
The programme was organised with support from the Department of Social Development, Department of Health, Nkangala District Municipality, and Emalahleni Local Municipality.
The aim was to encourage older people to keep on moving and to build stronger social connections in their communities.
Mayor Cllr Vusi Nhlapho attended the event and spent time with the participants.
He said it is important to support older persons and help them live healthy, active, and dignified lives.
