Cellphone left at Fruit & Veg checkout: Owner appeals for its return

If you have the phone left behind at Fruit & Veg over the weekend, please hand it in at Witbank News.

A man who accidentally left his cellphone at a checkout counter at Fruit & Veg yesterday, July 12, is appealing to the person who picked it up to return it.

CCTV footage shows the owner placing the phone on the counter while paying for his groceries.

In a rush to gather his purchases, he appears to leave the phone behind.

Moments later, two men step up to the cash register to pay for their shopping.

The footage shows the younger of the two noticing the phone, picking it up and showing it to the older man accompanying him.

After the older man checks his own cellphone, the younger man is seen placing the forgotten phone in their shopping trolley.

The phone’s owner is appealing to the person who picked it up to return it.
