1 dead, 2 injured in R544 head-on collision
Emergency services have cleared the wreckage after a fatal crash threw morning traffic into chaos.
One person died and two others were injured in a head-on collision on the R544 to Verena early today.
According to Tomas Malatjie from Tomdollers towing, two cars travelling in opposite directions collided head-on in the early hours of the morning.
A driver from one of the cars was confirmed dead on the scene, while two other people sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital.

The traffic was interrupted while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and attend to the victims.
However, the road has since been cleared and traffic flow has returned to normal.
