3 in court today after breakthrough in Mpumalanga ATM bombings case
The trio faces serious charges linked to a series of ATM bombing cases reported across the province.
Three suspects aged between 20 and 38 are expected to make their first appearance in the Evander Magistrate’s Court today, September 7.
They face charges relating to a violent string of ATM bombings across Mpumalanga.
According to the office of the SAPS provincial commissioner, their appearance follows a breakthrough made after an intensive investigation led by SAPS’ Cold Case Investigation Team, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

The trio faces serious charges linked to ATM bombing cases reported in Leslie, Embalenhle, Bethal, eMalahleni, Vosman and Phola.

Provincial SAPS commissioner Lieutenant General Apaphia Modise commended the team for their dedication and persistence.
She said the breakthrough demonstrates SAPS’ commitment to ensuring that perpetrators of serious and organised crimes are identified and brought to justice.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
