Nocturne explores faith and resilience
The ladies were encouraged to always remember that God shall never leave them alone.
The Women’s Agricultural Union Nocturne branch recently gathered for its monthly meeting at the Kunsmyn Studio on September 3, embracing the inspiring theme, ‘Strong Women… Soft Hearts’.
The meeting focused on a devotional reflection on the old 1c coin with the two sparrows – dated 1967 – as a small reminder of a great truth: God sees, He knows, and He cares.
Members reflected on the story of women who had lost everything and did not know what tomorrow would bring, but held fast to God’s promise that He will take care of His children.
Faith and scripture
The scripture reading was from Matthew 10:29-31: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

The message emphasised that God sees each person in their struggle, knows their heart, cares for them, and holds them precious.
The ladies reminded themselves that if God knows when even a small sparrow falls to the ground, how much more does He know what is happening in the lives of believers.
In conclusion, the members were reminded: “You are not alone – God is always with you. Trust Him today!”
