Relebohile and Mxolisi take top titles at Face of Emalahleni

The pageant celebrates its new winners while highlighting its commitment to developing local youth.

Contestants delivered show-stopping performances at New Life Church Hall on September 26 as the Face of Emalahleni beauty pageant crowned its new winners.

“Our 12th annual Face of Emalahleni crowning was a great success, and we are looking forward to working with our new winners to change the lives of young people in the City of Coal,” said event organiser Sibongile Mabona.

Outlining the vision of the pageant, Mabona said: “The purpose of the Face of Emalahleni is to uplift and develop the youth of our community. We provide them with a platform to explore their potential, build confidence and showcase their talents. One of our major focuses is promoting education and spreading love through charitable activities that reach out to the vulnerable members of society.”

New title holders

Mxolisi Ntjana was named Mr Emalahleni, while Relebohile Lesikara was crowned queen. Buhle Madonsela took home the crown for Miss Teen Emalahleni, and Sibusiwe Mthonjeni was named Miss Pre-Teen Emalahleni.

Runners-up Makhosazana Mashilo (teen) and Khadisha Makina (pre-teen) were also celebrated for their grace and excellence.

For Mabona, every finalist is a champion. “To those who didn’t win, I want you to know this is just the beginning,” she said. “Reaching the finals is already a huge accomplishment. You are all stars in my eyes, and I believe in the greatness within each of you.”

Mabona expressed heartfelt thanks to the pageant’s supporters.

“To every sponsor who has stood with us, we see you, we appreciate you and we are truly grateful. Thank you for believing in us and for being part of our journey. Together, we are making a difference.”
