As I’m writing this, we’re anxiously awaiting your arrival and let me tell you one thing; you are loved. You have so many people who already love you so much and your mom and I are first in line with the most to give with family and friends a close second. Your family will be big and you will love your furry brother Buddy, your very curious sister Ava, your uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews and don’t get me started on your grannies and grandpa. They will break every rule we will make for you and spoil you rotten. They will look forward to see your beautiful little face every time we visit and they will always be the ones who will give you everything (even if we tell them not to).
I can’t wait for you to meet your mom! She is the most perfect human being that God blessed me with and trust your dad when he says this; you will never experience love like the love of a mother and your mom has so much in her heart. I must admit I was jealous some days, just because your mom gets to know you a little longer than I do but don’t you worry, we’ll catch up. It still feels surreal that I will be your dad and every day I will always strive to be the best dad for you because another thing you should know my sweet little girl, from the day you come into our lives, nothing else matters but you. You will be our whole entire world till the day we die.
The world you are coming into is by no means perfect, in fact, it’s a scary place. There is rampant crime all around, scammers trying to get you around every corner, rape and murder is ever present and even our polony is trying to kill us but through it all, we somehow survive and make it work every day. We might have a damaged country now, but believe me by the time you are old enough to realise your surroundings you will fall in love with every little damaged part of it. You will realise that this is your home too.
I so badly want to keep you locked up in a glass cage and protect you from the outside world, but I know that’s not how life works. We can only teach, guide and prepare you and pray for your safety every night as you grow every day but until then, I’ll keep you close and not allow the world to interfere just yet.
