Hockey tricks at Dutch Clinic

An excited group of young hockey enthusiasts ran around on the field. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of the players to learn from some of the best hockey coaches.

Princess Sportways had come to eMalahleni, bringing two top couches from Holland. A two-day coaching clinic was held at the Hockey Farm and started on Monday January 6. Ninety lucky, young hockey players got the opportunity to learn first-hand from the masters and 13 local coaches got the chance to gain more knowledge and also improve their techniques on the field.

“Princess does these clinics all over the world,” said Danielle Campbell, one of the coaches. “We want to help the sport to grow and develop in South Africa,” she added.

Princess Sportways is an international recognised sports brand and is active in no less than 10 countries.

Hans Pieter van Beek and Vincent van Hall, the two couches from the Netherlands, had been trainers for several years. “We want to teach but also learn from the hockey players here,” Vincent said.
These two top coaches showed tremendous skill on the field and shared some of their techniques with the local players.
