Ematayereni Cup launched

Emalahleni Masters launched the Ematayereni Cup recently. The cup was launched at Ematayereni in KwaGuqa Extension 10 on Friday, March 21.

Ten teams will be involved in the knock-out tournament. The last four teams on the log, Extension 11 Masters, MCC, Shakes 11 and Phatudi Masters will face each other on March 29. Then the two winning teams will be drawn against the first six teams on the log to make eight teams.

The eight teams will then face each other on Thursday, May 1 (Workers Day), and the remaining four teams will face each other on Saturday, May 3. The final and losers final will be played on Saturday, May 31.

League rules will be applied and the additional rules are that ID and drivers licence or temporary ID must be produced before every game.

Players who are 30 years or older are allowed to play with the exemption of two players who are between 27 and 30 years. The duration of the match will be 35 minutes per half and in case of a stalemate penalties will be taken.

At stake is R10 000 and the affiliation fee is R400. First prize is R4 500 plus trophy, second prize R2 500, third prize is R2 000 and the fourth prize is R1 000.

A 10-member committee will run the competition.
