The winning team from Carrisa Primary School are from left: Dintle Rantho (WD), Tshegofatso Motene (GS), Andile Mbethe (C), Moleboheng Masuku (GA), Siphesihle Mhalangu (reserve), Joy Malinga (GD), Kgethego Masemola (reserve), Naledi Dlamini (WA), Jolena Machai (GK) and Simbi Sibanda-Zivona (coach).

The team came up against formidable opponents such as Laerskool Taalfees, C.R. Swart and Onverwacht at the championship that was held on Saturday, May 23.

According to their coach, the girls showed outstanding determination and tenacity when they won the final match against Middelburg Primary School by 10 goals to seven.

What made their effort so remarkable was the fact that they played the final match with only six players instead of the normal seven.

The team is set to play in the Mpumalanga Primary Schools Netball Championships on June 7 at Laerskool Standerton.
