Country Legends bring country to eMalahleni

South Africa’s favourite Country Music Legends are heading back to The Ridge for a night of spectacular music, fun and dancing.

They will be appearing at The Venue on Saturday, March 7.
The Ridge Casino Marketing Assistant Manager, Sibongile Tantsi said, “The local country stars, including Lance James, Clive Bruce, Sally Vaughn and Barbara Ray with Rodeo Girls, will be performing at The Venue at The Ridge, for one night only a night country-lovers definitely do not want to miss.”

“These performers are well-known for their dynamic stage presence and ability to get the crowd up, dancing and singing along,” she added.
Lance James is a versatile South African country artist who has been in show business for over 50 years. He is considered as one of the top entertainers in South Africa and has an excellent rapport with his audiences.
Clive Bruce started his music career doing backing vocals and singing on Springbok Hits albums. His solo career took off in 1971 when ‘Sally Sunshine’ entered the SA Top 20 and reached number 11 in July that year.
Bruce continued to record and release an album of covers in 2006 and his greatest hits compilation in 2008.
Sally Vaughn, known as ‘Mama Country’, performed in Nashville, Tennessee in June 1984 at the annual Country Awards and received a standing ovation for her songs ‘Glory Glory Hallelujah’ and ‘Somewhere Between’. In 1989 Sally Vaughn, Lance James, Clive Bruce, Billy Forrest and Joanna Field began the group: ‘Over The Hillbillies’, and released five albums the following year.
Barbara Ray, The Queen of Country, has had more country hits than any other female South African country artist. Her biggest hits include ‘I Don’t Wanna Play House’, ‘Divorce’ and ‘Way Down In New Orleans’.

The Rodeo Girls are a group of line-dancing ladies of all ages. They dance with different costumes but their theme is Country.
Doors will open at 18:00 on the night with Country Legends hitting the stage from 19:00.
“Tickets are available at The Ridge Customer Service desk for R150 per person. Remember to buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment closer to the time,” Sibongile said.
