Reach for a Dream foundation gives back
Reach for a Dream Witbank satellite branch made four children’s dreams come true

Sticking to their mandate which is to encourage children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses, Reach for a Dream Witbank satellite branch made four children’s dreams come true. They have thus far managed to fulfil 27 dreams for children in and around Emalahleni with them only operating for just six months.

Four-year-old Digra Kapongo’s dream was to be a princess for a day and with the help of Reach for a Dream foundation, she had a tea-party at All4cakes.
Boy L (to protect his identity) stays in a children’s home and suffers from Bronchiectasis, his dream was to go to the zoo as he had never been there before and to also meet an actress from a local drama series Skeem Saam Natasha Thahane. With the help of the Reach for a Dream foundation he managed to kill two birds with one stone as he got to spend the afternoon at the zoo with her.
Four-year-old Digra Kapongo suffers from Sicke Cell Anaemia, she loves looking pretty and having tea parties so being a princess for the day has always been her wish. The Reach for a Dream foundation threw her a tea-party at Ronel Perold’s place. Her day was filled with playing in a real life castle and she also received a battery operated scooter she had always wanted so she will be able to travel in style.

Lover of fast cars Bokang Mafolo visited Red Star Raceway to spend the day there with the help of Reach for a Dream foundation.
Digra was diagnosed when she was three months old. She is a phenomenal child who loves to play and help her mother with household chores such as washing dishes. “It has not been an easy journey but we have been managing thus far. She is a very intelligent, active and jolly child. She also enjoys watching movies. She is my blessing,” said Gisele Yumba, mother of Digra.
Bokang Mafolo loves fast cars; the little man suffers from Nephrotic syndrome. His dream was to have his own Sony PlayStation three and ride in a real race-car.

Five-year-old Neo Mbowane’s dream came true when he met Spiderman at Witbank’s Duck Pond with the help of Reach for a Dream foundation.
The fourth child’s dream happened at Witbank’s Duck Pond where five-year-old Neo Mbowane’s dream was to meet Spider-man. He suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome.
All the children’s dreams were fulfilled in different days to allow each child an individual experience.
“Thanks to our friends at Red Star Raceway, All4Cakes, Witbank’s Duck Pond, the zoo and all stakeholders for making the children’s dreams come true. We will continue to do more and make more dreams come true,” said Siphumele Mabunda, Reach for a Dream field worker.
