New look for the Mitsubishi Outlander
After the recent success in sales locally, Mitsubishi Motors SA has been introducing various new models to the market and now there is a refreshed Outlander.

Upfront the seven-seater receives a redesigned front grille and a new front bumper complemented by the dusk-sensing headlamps while on the side-profile you will find new alloy wheels. At the rear is a newly-designed bumper situated below the electric tailgate which automatically opens and closes at the touch of a button. It is on the interior of the seven-seater where most new features can be found.
At the rear of the vehicle, Mitsubishi has included a storage space for the tonneau cover when it is not needed. In the front of the cabin, the driver now has the ability to adjust their seating with both power and manual controls. The driver also benefits from the electric parking brake with auto-hold function for when launching on an incline. The Outlander now also features a dual-zone air-conditioning and climate control system with vents at the rear.
Featuring in the facia is a new 8-inch touch-screen Smartphone-link Display Audio system which is Bluetooth, USB, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible and includes Handsfree Voice Control, accessible from the leather-clad multi-function steering wheel. This system also displays images from the reverse camera and park distance control. Also featuring is upgraded leather seats, new trim on the dashboard and door panels, auto up and down electric windows all around and USB ports at the rear. The second and third row of seats can be folded flat for increased luggage space with the second row in a 60:40 split configuration while the third has a 50:50 split.
Under the bonnet, the Outlander comes fitted with the latest 2.4-litre MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control) motor coupled to an INVECS-III, six-step, automatic CVT transmission. Sending power to all four wheels utilizing Super All-Wheel Control System (S-AWC), this motor and transmission pairing promises a combined return of 8.2L/100 km according to the manufacturer.
The motor produces 123 kW and 222 N.m of torque and in combination with the Active Yaw Control system, the S-AWC utilizes multiple sensors to distribute torque to wheels that have the most traction. Drivers can choose in between a variety of driving modes including ECO, normal, snow and gravel depending on the driving conditions.
In addition to the abovementioned driving systems, the new Outlander also features a variety of safety systems such as Automatic Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto-Hold, a seven-airbag system and RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction. Also included are side impact protection bars, ISOFIX child seat anchors and Hill Start Assist.
Warranty and service
The Mitsubishi Outlander comes standard with a three-year/100 000km warranty, a five-year/ 90 000 km service plan and five-year/unlimited-kilometre Roadside Assistance.
