Midbay Motors Bravo

Driving Zululand since 1973

Midbay Motors has been part of the Zululand business scene for 47 years. The Midbay story started in 1973 when brothers Mich and Dan Hodges opened a Volkswagen dealership in Empangeni’s Sanlam Centre. Since those early ‘Beetle days’ Midbay Motors have expanded considerably, thanks to the great cars it sells and being customer focused. In 1989 the dealership moved to the rapidly growing Richards Bay where it opened the most modern (at the time) automotive outlet in Zululand, in Dollar Drive. Audi was also added to the company’s growing concerns. In 2013 Midbay Motors saw another expansion, this time a move to the

state-of-the-art dealership complex in the Richards Bay CBD from where it sells the latest Volkswagen models today. The old Dollar Drive showroom and workshop facility was put in good use in 2014 when Midbay also acquired Citroën and Peugeot. More recently, the local motor group added the JAC line of affordable bakkies and trucks to its products, also from out the Dollar Drive premises. Heading towards half-a-century of business in Zululand, the Midbay Group is one of the oldest companies in the area and just like during its humble beginnings, still serves the community the best it can.
