
THERE have been no cases of rabies reported in the uThungulu District since June.
This could be due to the intensive campaigns in rural areas.
State vet Johan Blignaut said the response has been ‘very good and many dogs had been vaccinated against rabies’.
‘From January to August we vaccinated about 45 000 dogs and cats,’ he said.
The next rabies vaccination programme will be conducted in the Ntambanana district on the following dates:
Monday 7 October: Mambuka, Maqetaplate, Magwetshana, Mningi.
Tuesday 8 October: Mvazana, Ntuzuma, Mandlanzini, Makholwazi.
Wednesday 9 October: Sangoyana 1 and 2, Bhiliya 1,2,3 and 4
Thursday 10 October: Buchanna, Macence
Fridy 11 October: KwaHlaza, Ndondwane, Obizo
Monday 14 October: Debe, Mkhandlweni, Nseleni, Hawayi
Tuesday 15 October: Mabhentse, Nqomintaba, Dlomodlomo, Ncemane, Oqabiyeni, Mfule
Wednesday 16 October: Tiki, Folshin, Mawanda, Munywana, Lumbi, Kunjwele, Oviceni
Thursday 17 October: Bedlana, Nkwenkwe, Bhonkolo, Nomponjwana, Masangweni
Friday 18 October: Hlomu, Nungwini.
