Bringing cheer to communities’ children

Toys will be distributed to children in Aquadene and Brackenham.

LOCAL non profit organisation, Born Brave Youth in Arts Foundation will distribute boxes of toys to children in Richards Bay for Christmas.

Foundation CEO Celeste Robertson said the organisation’s Santa Toy Drive 2013 kicked off last month and received overwhelming support, enabling them to distribute presents to youngsters whose parents cannot afford to buy them a gift.

She said the foundation identified the need to distribute gifts to children from low income households, where parents struggle to meet the basics needs, and cannot afford to buy gifts for their children.

The toys will be distributed to children in Aquadene and Brackenham.

‘Volunteers and teams were asked to encourage friends and family to donate educational and fun toys at our drop off points; this was our first Christmas Cheer project and it was heart-warming to see the public’s generosity.

‘We know there is a huge need in the rural and outlying areas but in our own suburbs families are finding it extremely difficult to make ends meet.

‘We understand the financial pressure experienced by some parents and thank our sponsors for bringing hope to the community’s children and easing the burdens on parents who cannot afford a present this festive season,’ she said.
