A MAN suspected to be a cable thief died after he was shocked this morning.
His body was discovered at about 10am on the outskirts of Addison Park, Empangeni by Freddy Horn Jnr, a City of uMhlatuze, Electrical Senior Special Worksman.
The body was lying next to a recently replaced electrical cable which had been cut and parts removed.
There were various tools lying scattered around him including a hack-saw and a spade.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Empangeni SAPS were on the scene and an inquest has been opened. The official cause of death will be available after a post-mortem has been conducted.
