Empangeni robbery kingpin busted

Empangeni’s most wanted house robber nabbed

EMPANGENI’s number one house robbery mastermind was busted at Mandlazini in Richards Bay a few hours ago following a tip off by local community members.

The 27-year-old suspect wanted for attempted murder and house robberies was nabbed by a specialised Empangeni task team after being on the run for the past three months. Topping the ‘most wanted’ list in the region, he is believed to be linked to up to twenty cases of house robberies and two cases of attempted murder.

‘When we arrived on scene, he did try to escape and injured himself but our task team is relieved he is finally arrested,’ said Empangeni SAPS Warrant Officer Steven Muller.

The suspect is due to appear at the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning (tomorrow) but bail will be opposed by the State.
