Rotary in the pink

Rotary supporters rock their way to R36 000 for cancer sufferers

THERE was plenty of good music, hearty laughter and charity as Richards Bay Rotary Club hosted another edition of their popular Music Trivia evenings at the Country Club on Friday night.

This time the cause was raising money for a Rotary discretionary fund to assist patients unable to afford cancer screening or certain treatments, so the dress code was decidedly ‘pink’.

Once more, lively DJ Keith Eaton provided the music and aided by co-quizmaster Dave Savides put the tables of teams through their paces as they displayed their musical knowledge…or lack thereof.

As usual there was plenty of banter, dancing and general goofing around, interspersed with challenges, auctions, raffles and other fundraising schemes.

By the end of the night, Rotary could proudly announce that R36 000 was raised, thanks to participants, sponsors and supporters and the hard work of the Rotary team led by Arthur and Diane Gray.
