KWADLANGEZWA rapist, Zakhele Mkhwanazi (42) was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in the Ngwelezane Regional Court.
He was found guilty of raping a 26-year-old woman near Mtunzini in February last year.
It was reported that the victim was sleeping in her cottage when she was approached by the cottage caretaker (Mkhwanazi) who raped her and fled the scene.
The Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) investigated the case that led to the arrest of the accused on 20 February 2013.
Mkhwanazi appeared in court several times until he was finally sentenced on Friday.
