THE mother of a toddler, whose mutilated body was found in a Pongola church last month, hopes the latest arrest will uncover her son’s missing body parts.
This follows the arrest of Sbongiseni Nhlanhla Magagula (24) last week, after children identified him as the man who took four-year-old Lungisani Ngubane last month.
Speaking to the Zululand Observer on Wednesday, a few days after the child’s funeral, Lungisani’s mother, Bongiwe Ntuli, said she cannot find closure until her son’s stomach and arm are recovered.
‘All I want is for my son to be complete. It’s hard to know his body parts are out there somewhere. I’m just glad the funeral went well, but I now don’t understand why they let the pastor go. How can they release him after my son was murdered in the worst way, and found in his property,’ said a tearful Bongiwe.
Ward councillor, Jackson Mkhwanazi, said the funeral went well and residents treated it with respect.
Police patrols in the area are still being conducted, to avoid any violence.
Magagula appeared in court on Monday and he was remanded in custody until 5 August.
