Birdswood body identified

He was a resident of Birdswood, his home close to where his body was found.

THE name of the apparent murder victim found partially decomposed in a Nissan X-Trail in the parking area at Birdswood Secondary School last night has been identified as Pierre de Lange, aged 44.

He was a resident of Birdswood, his home close to where the hired vehicle was found.

He leaves his wife, Bernadette and two adult sons. They are being counselled and comforted by pastors and members at the Outlook Church in Birdswood.

Due to the state of decomposition of the body, an autopsy this afternoon failed to determine cause of death.

Specialised police CSI detective Sgt Niel van der Merwe is currently combing the vehicle for clues and collecting DNA samples that may lead to the perpetrators.
