WATER rationing measures will be introduced with immediate effect for residents within the City of uMhlathuze.
The municipality announced this morning that water supply would be partially restricted between 10pm and 4am daily. This is as a result of unstable water levels at Lake Mzingazi since the beginning of the year.
The latest water level reading was recorded at 26.7% as at 13 September.
According to a notice sent to residents this morning, this is a temporary arrangement, which will remain in place until the water supply is restored back to normal.
Affected wards in the City include wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 26.
Loud hailers and smses will also be used to alert customers about the current situation.
