Melomed Hospital receives diamond status for patient excellence

The Diamond Status honour places Melomed Richards Bay among a select group of healthcare facilities committed to achieving excellence in stroke care

Melomed Richards Bay hosted an award ceremony on Tuesday in honour of its Diamond Status at the recent World Stroke Organisation (WSO) Angels Awards.

This award signifies the hospital’s commitment to excellence in maintaining the highest standard of management, and follows last year’s Platinum Status.

During the intimate ceremony, the team was applauded for their dedication and commitment to ensuring that the Melomed brand is rated among the best in the world.

Head of trauma unit, Dr Penny Dhliwayo, could not contain her excitement when taking to the podium.

“Wow, this is an honour for us.

“While we are here to celebrate, it is a reminder that we still need to do more.

“As healthcare professionals, I have spoken to my colleagues about taking our knowledge to the rural areas.

“People must be aware of the early signs of a stroke.”

Resident neurologist, Dr Naazim Siddi Ganie, said, “It is an honour for us as a team to be recognised for our continuous commitment to patient care.

“This award is a reflection of everyone, from the emergency teams who bring patients up to the last moment of care.”

Hospital manager, Randal Pedro, expressed his pride in being a part of the Melomed Private Hospitals family.
