Life sentence for son who hacked father to death

The man confronted his son about the fact that he had, at the age of 25, already fathered nine children.

CONCERNED father Hashaza Isaac Dlamini (49) sat his son Sthembiso Dlamini (25) down for a talk about the direction his life was taking and to offer advice.

However, his words of wisdom were not well received as Sthembiso attacked his father with a bush knife.

The father sustained severe wounds all over his body and died at the scene.

On Tuesday, he appeared in the dock at the Mtubatuba Regional Court where he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his father.

According to witnesses and police documents, an argument developed when Sthembiso’s father confronted him about the fact that he had, at the age of 25, already fathered nine children.
