Academic honours for Empangeni pastor

Empangeni pastor earns PhD.

PASSIONATE about education and a firm believer that knowledge is power, University of Zululand (Unizulu) Senior Lecturer Dr Mbusiseni Ntuli (54) graduated from the Great Commission University of Oklahoma recently.

Completing his Doctorate in Ministry, Dr Ntuli works as a full-time lecturer in Educational Management and is also an assistant pastor at the Empangeni Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Originally from Hluhluwe, Dr Ntuli lives in Empangeni with his wife and three children.

Also a graduate of Unizulu, he enrolled in 1981 to complete his degree in education and subsequently his honours in theology.

After graduating, he started his career at Khula High School as an Afrikaans and history teacher. He then became Deputy Principal at Mduku High School before moving to the south coast as Principal at a Port Shepstone school.

During this term Dr Ntuli went on sabbatical leave to complete his Masters Degree in Education Management and Policy at the University of Oregon in 1990.

In 1995 he joined Unizulu and has been an enthusiastic lecturer at the institution ever since.
