4 ways to organise school stationery
Organising stationery is a huge job that should never be left to the last minute.

WITH the first day of school right around the corner, it’s imperative to keep track of all that needs to be done to ensure your child is fit and ready.
Organising stationery is a huge job that should never be left to the last minute.
• Make sure your child has all your essential basic school stationery items at hand. These include pencils, pens, maths equipment, erasers, colouring pencils, felt tips and a pencil case. Highlighters are also useful for note-taking and revision.
• It would be best if your child has a pencil case with separate sections so this next step is easier. If you do have this, put all the handwriting tools in one section, colouring items in another, and maths equipment and erasers in another.
• Encourage your child to keep these sections in order and to always put the items back in their appropriate place. Do not allow your child to hand out pencils to his/her friends because they are not responsible for them and might lose them. Your child’s pencil case will keep his/her equipment and stationery intact and it also helps them find pride in their schoolwork (with a tidy and neat case).
• Personalise the pencil case by adding sparkly stars and decorate with glitter pens. Marker pens are also effective. Make sure your child’s name is marked clearly on the pencil case so if lost, it can be returned.
