THE three suspects in the murder of KwaMsane police officer, Cst Thathokuhle Nokukhanya Sibiya, were denied bail at KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Seasoned criminal, Sifiso Mkhwanazi (35) was on parole at the time of the murder and Jabulani Mbuyazi (29) is wanted in connection with other outstanding cases.
For these reasons the pair cannot be granted bail.
The third accused, Thubelihle Thethwayo (34) could get bail should the ballistic, fingerprints and Section 205 reports not connect him to the murder.
As these reports were not available at the time of Tuesday’s bail hearing, a separate bail application for Thethwayo has been scheduled for 25 February.
All three were remanded in custody.
Sibiya was murdered in Mfekayi near Mtubatuba on 3 January while pursuing a car that had been involved in a hit-and-run collision.
