THE two 10-year-old Jozini boys accused of murdering a seven-year-old girl have been remanded into custody until the completion of a full social workers report.
The boys, who can not be named as they are minors, will remain at a place of safety in Newcastle until they return to Ubombo Magistrate’s Court on 20 February. One of the accused is the brother of the deceased girl.
The children allegedly stoned the girl and used a spear to stab her in the head.
When first arrested, the boys said they had also raped the girl, an action which they now deny. While no concrete motive has been established, the boys have indicated that they were playing and accidentally killed her.
