Kind Samaritans

Community help family of murder victim.

THE Shezi family residing at Vuma were blessed in the midst of adversity as they were still puzzled by the sudden death of Lindiwe Shezi.

The impoverished family was in awe as South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) members gave a helping hand to the family, providing groceries for the funeral.

The deceased left home for greener pastures in Johannesburg, but never got the chance to experience them.

Her death is alleged to have been caused by her boyfriend, who suspected Lindiwe of cheating and spending R4 000 of his money with men at the tavern.

It is said the boyfriend torched her house suspecting that she was with another man inside, after he knocked at the door without a response

But inside the house were Lindiwe and her cousin Zonke Nsibande with an infant.

Seeing the flames, Lindiwe put her baby in a washbasin hoping the flames would not reach the baby.

The infant suffered second degree burns, but survived while Lindiwe died protecting her baby.

Khumbuzile Shezi, the only bread winner, says Lindiwe left five children behind, all of whom have no birth certificate except for one.

Anybody willing to assist the Shezi family can contact Siyabonga Mhlongo of Sanco on 072 5259767.
