Foundation welcomes bank donation
FNB gives R100 000 to Uthungulu Community Foundation.
THE uThungulu Community Foundation (UCF) gratefully received a R100 000 donation cheque from First National Bank.
‘We just can’t tell how thrilled we were when we received the news that FNB had also decided to partner with the Foundation by joining other local private sector organisations already making annual contributions to the process of developing our local communities,’ said UCF CEO, Chris Mkhize.
‘The Foundation’s areas of focus on community development are education, health, agriculture, small enterprise development and promotion of social justice.
‘This donation will mainly be used for organisation development and part of it will go to education and small enterprise development.
‘FNB was one of five banks we approached earlier this year to consider partnering with the Foundation in the process of developing local communities on principles based on sustainability, public accountability, demonstrated results, honesty, fairness and professionalism,’ said Mkhize.
FNB Richards Bay Branch Manager Garry Smith welcomed the opportunity to partner with the UCF to develop local communities.
‘Local economies depend massively on well-developed local communities and civil societies.
‘We are pleased that this donation will be used in organisational development, education and small enterprise development – truly essential areas in the growth of our communities and local economy.’
