All set for cancer walk

Loads of fun for a cancer cause

THE countdown is on for the inaugural Cancer Day/Nite Walk on 29 August.

Replacing the previous CANSA Relay For Life through-the-night event, the new version takes place at the ZCBF Community Park in Richards Bay from 11am to 11pm.

Teams that have not yet registered can do so by contacting Eurika on 035 789 0841 or email rbbookings@kbcsa.co.za to get registration forms and submit a final team name list by 27 August.

‘Team members can sell goodies, refreshments or food to supporters at the event to qualify for ‘The Team with the Most Funds Raised’ certificate,’ said organising committee Chairman, Barbara Moscicki.

‘Teams wanting to fund raise at the event will be required to book a stand with Eurika to ensure we can accommodate all and to encourage a variety to ensure your goodies go.

‘Once you have booked your spot you can set up a gazebo with a trestle table and chairs and start fund-raising.

‘Teams have the option to donate all proceeds for the day or deduct the cost for fund-raising at the event and only donate the profit.

‘All the funds raised on the day by walkers, exhibitors and teams will be donated to CANSA uThungulu to assist them with rolling out their services in the region.’

From this Monday, teams can collect and pay for their walkers’ access bands – to be worn on the day – at the KBC Health and Safety offices situated at Reelin House, 74 Dollar Drive, Alton, Richards Bay from 9am to 4pm.

Cost per walker is R50 and companies that require an invoice can email Barbara on the contact details below.

Teams can also purchase a supporter access band for a donation of R10 per person for loved ones, family members, friends or colleagues who will be cheering them on the day while they strut their stuff in aid of CANSA uThungulu.

Contact Barbara for more information on 082 4505694 or email barbara@kbcsa.co.za
