BREAKING NEWS: 30 school children injured in bakkie crash
Seven children are in a critical condition after a horror crash on the R66 this morning
AN early morning crash on the R66 near Ceza in Northern KZN has left more than 30 school children injured.
According to a statement issued by KZN EMS spokesman Robert McKenzie, two bakkies transporting school pupils collided at the Ceza intersection.
‘When KZN EMS paramedics arrived at the scene, they found multiple injured children. They immediately set about triaging and treating the injured.’
McKenzie said several ambulance services were dispatched to the scene and to a local clinic, to where some of the injured children had been transported privately.
‘Seven children sustained critical injuries, nine were in a serious condition and a further 15 had sustained minor injuries,’ said McKenzie.
All the patients were transported to a local hospital for further care.
