THE Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit has for the second time this year received recognition for their outstanding work.

This unit deals on a daily basis with cases involving sexual assault and rape, and boasts a very successful arrest and conviction rate.

‘We always get our man, or woman,’ said Empangeni FCS commanding officer, Colonel Makhosi Ncube.

‘I am very proud of my members and the dedication they show to their work.’

Last week, Colonel Ncube accepted a Silver Award for the Best FCS unit in the province from MEC for Community Safety, Willies Mchunu.

‘We have called this year our year of emergence. This year, we will go forward and strive to become the very best FCS unit in the country.

‘Prosecuting criminals who attack women and children will be our highest priority and our victims can rest assured, we will always be there,’ concluded Colonel Ncube.
