SPCA’s battle with bakkie load of trouble
Richards Bay SPCA needs urgent funding after bakkie-breakdown

A SEIZED engine in the SPCA Richards Bay’s bakkie has left the welfare organisation without its ‘steed of steel’, normally used to rush to the rescue of abused and neglected animals in the area.
For weeks, the organisation’s Tata has been standing with a pricey bill of R22 800 to replace the engine, which the non-profit says it cannot afford.
‘The Tata dealership has been kind enough to let us pay off the expense over three months and excluded the cost of fitment and labour of the engine,’ said SPCA Richards Bay Chairperson, Anna-Mare Coetzee.
‘But we simply do not have the funds available to cover the cost.
‘This bakkie is vital in our daily operations and we kindly ask for any assistance from our business fraternity and community.’
