Parkinson’s disease support group

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that gradually affects one’s mobility.

TO create awareness and build a strong support system throughout the community for victims of Parkinson’s disease, locals are encouraged to attend a monthly meeting held at the NG Kerk hall in Empangeni at 10.30 on the first Tuesday of every month.

This initiative is spearheaded by Zululander Louise de Villiers.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that gradually affects one’s mobility.

It develops slowly over time, sometimes starting with a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand.

While many locals have fallen victim to the disease, most have felt the brunt with no shoulder to lean on.

For more information regarding the support group, contact De Villiers on 084 4876669.
