UPDATE: Drown victims named

THE brothers who died in a tragic double drowning off Pelican Island on Sunday have been named as Bhuti (14) and Bheki (15) Mthembu.

Reportedly from Bethel in Mpumalanga and part of an Umuziwokuthula Church of Zion group celebrating the Easter weekend, the boys sadly disappeared under the water after reaching a section too deep to stand in.

Their bodies were recovered by police divers on Monday.

A seven year-old boy was also reported drowned at Machibini reserve, KwaMsane on Friday.

Police said the deceased and other children were swimming at the dam built just behind his homestead when the incident took place.
