World record breaking pastor arrives in the Bay
World record breaking pastor will cycle 3000 kilometres without saddle
A PASTOR with 14 world records under the belt and attempting yet another – cycling 3 000 km standing on a tandem without a saddle – arrived at The Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre on Friday.
Adrenaline junkie Pastor Lukas Korff started his latest epic adventure at Kosi Bay on 1 April, with the mission of inspiring the youth to stand on the Word of God and take Jesus Christ with them wherever they go.
Travelling with his wife Shanerie, daughter Zione and son Luka-Luo, his journey will stretch from the border of Mozambique around the bottom of Africa to the border of Namibia in a hundred days.
They will aim to visit a hundred schools, inspiring children to take a stand by respecting their teachers, honouring their parents and standing on God’s Word.
They ministered at the AGS Lighuis Empangeni on Sunday and will be available for ministry at schools and churches during the week.
Lucas started his deep spiritual journey following a horrific car accident.
Doctors said he would never walk again, but Lucas refused to accept the bad news and made an oath to God, saying, ‘If You heal me, I will speak of You all the days of my life and stand for You.’
Promise honoured
When Lucas was miraculously healed, he honoured his promise and has been speaking to the youth for the past 28 years about God and His love.
When his first wife died, he started taking anti-depressant and sleeping tablets and fell into a deep slump.
But a challenge of a 12-year-old shook him from his depression and gave birth to the movement ‘I stand for Jesus’.
He was challenged to do the Cape Argus without a saddle to raise funds to finish the GenX Skatepark he started building before his wife’s passing.
This was also his first world record.
He has since bagged 13 more world records, including a six-hour standing spinnathon on top of a moving high rise crane at Eden On The Bay and a boxing marathon when he punched a speed-ball for 26 hours and 10 minutes uninterrupted.
On Youth Day, 16 June, Lucas hopes to give 1 000 000 Audio Bibles to children at the schools he visited.
They will be spending the next three weeks in the north and south coast.
The journey will be filmed and featured on MXTV, Spirit Word and KykNet.
