THE attention of hundreds of participants at Sunday’s Mondi fun walk was diverted towards the waterside at the Bay Hall when a driver managed to park his bus firmly in the mud.

Attempts to by two 4×4 tow trucks to pull it free proved in vain, and with the tide turning and Spring high tide just hours away from making recovery impossible, the ‘heavy artillery’ was called in.
After a couple of hiccups the job was eventually done by the Umfolozi Towing super truck, much to the cheers of spectators who were fearing the worst.
