Church blesses pensioner

The impoverished family shares a tiny rondavel as their shelter and uses a plastic-lined enclosure as its kitchen facility and was extremely grateful for the donation.

TEARS ran down the face of 87 year-old Jostina Mngomezulu and her son Thabani of Mgazini Reserve when she was visited by a church group who brought brief happiness to her troubled life.

Reverend Bruce Edwards of the Methodist Church at Meerensee, together with fellow congregants Mr T Hlongwane, Ndumiso Mhlongo and Thama Khumalo, who is also a Ward 7 member under Mfolozi Municipality, brought physical and spiritual food to the destitute needy pensioner.

‘As one big family of God we do this in His name, praying with these less fortunate ones and sharing food as well as the comfort of God’s word,’ said Rev Edwards, who prayed with the family.
