Ghostly fire claim rekindled
'Bad spirits' still tortures eSikhaleni resident Sthenbiso Nyawo
DESPITE intervention by religious and traditional healers, an eSikhaleni resident has reported a recurrence of ‘ghostly’ flames which engulf his bed and home at night.
Sithembiso Nyawo (29) claims the phenomena that began in 2011 continues to torment him and is now more scary than ever before.
In an exclusive interview on Tuesday, Nyawo said his situation has escalated from bad to worse, and he continues to seek for help.
‘I am having sleepless nights and I’m in constant fear of losing my life,’ he cried.
‘My clothes are being shredded while I am asleep, and every night my belongings are set on fire,’
‘This week I went to bed with my phone under the pillow but when I woke up it was missing.
‘When I called it, a woman – my ex-girlfriend from eManguzi – answered,’
He believes she is practicing ‘black magic’ on him.
‘These incidents started after we broke up and my life has not been the same ever since.
‘I went to eManguzi to speak to a chief there and a local nyanga was called.
‘He acknowledged to being the one responsible for these incidents after he had been contacted by my ex-partner,’
‘All I want is to be cured in order for my life to move forward. There is nothing I can do now if every week I have to buy new clothes and house appliances,’ he said.
‘I have spent lots of money attending to healers but there is no difference. I am living a nightmare and want it to end.’
Nyawo’s claims caused a buzz on various social networks last year, with Zululanders sitting on different sides of the fence.
While most sympathised with him, others believed he suffers from a psychological illness.
Some said he only wants his two minutes of fame, but the man is adamant his claims are true.
‘I don’t want attention but help. It wouldn’t really make sense for me to set my clothes on fire and cut them into pieces.
‘This is genuine whether people believe it or not. Black magic exists and I can testify to that,’
